I'm not a networky person but I do know the basics etc

I have virgin and the modem is upstairs in my spare room, now I cannot get a wireless signal from it downstairs at all (very weak) so I ran an ethernet cable down the cavity to a cheap belkin router, and set it as an access point with IP 192.168.0.10.

The Virgin supercraphub is 192.168.0.1 and has DHCP enabled.

Now, when I connect the ethernet cable from the Belkin to the superhub the internet still works but everything becomes unresponsive, I have to click weblinks 2-3times for them to work and game latencies go from 20ish to spikes for 22000, soon as I unplug the cable it's perfect.

Any thoughts what could cause it?

cheers

Something else on the network with the same IP as the belkin? which side of the belkin is plugged in to the superhub, LAN or WAN?

That's correct, was just making sure you weren't plugging in to the WAN. What about my other question?

Put the Belkin on .254 or something right at the other end of the range.

Can't really think what else it would be without seeing it.

Have you turned DHCP and DNS off on the Belkin? Also set the Belkin IP to be outside the DHCP Pool of the Superhub or at least reserve it in the table.
