bit of help with adding more network ports

Hi there, wondered if I could get some advice on a couple of things.

Basically my family are getting a PS3 etc for xmas and want to put it online using a wired connection. Easy.

My dad's office have a server and full network. (plotters, pc's etc)
there is only however one ethernet port in the house (where the PS3 will be)
that is already used up with my mums home work PC so i need to add more ports.

In the network they have a big ethernet switch and also a patch bay.
On the switch and patch bay there are plenty of free ports.

My first thought way to simple get a pair of ethernet splitters however they said they may wish to add another pc to the house as well so that wouldn't work.

Can i use something like the Edimax ES-3108P 8 Port Ethernet Switch. (found on play.com) and simple plug it into the single port in the house?

If not are there any other potions?

You can just connect another switch to evectively share the avalable port yes. Pretty much any switch will do it. Though you might aswell get a gigabit one as it's about £25 for a 5 port gigabit switch which will be futureproof.
