Bit of help with rockband series please

Hiya.

I have Rockband and want to purchase Rockband 2. How much is it to transfer all my downloaded songs / original Rockband songs to Rockband 2?

Also, I know there is a "Song Pack 2" Disc that you can buy in the shop, I read somewhere that if you buy this, it comes with 20 tracks and a FREE code to transfer Rockband 1 songs to Rockband 2 instead of using Gamerpoints. Anyone got any info on this?

But rememeber the master of Run to the Hills is available to download (at cost of course :p)

Pay the 400MSP for the transfer and just buy DLC. Buying song packs from shops (bar AC/DC) is a waste of time as it clashes with some of the packs of songs on the RB Store.

You get a code for 20 songs that you can't get anywhere else I believe (maybe you can pay for it).

Those three don't transfer because of funny rights for them, the music companies don't want you doing it. :(

All DLC works with both RB1 and RB2. :)

You only get the 20 songs if you get rock band brand new, the idea was to stop people buying it 2nd hand as they would get 20 less songs,

I assume you cant important RB2 songs to RB1? as RB2 is new interface and things?
 
Newer and better yes :)

It still largely functions the same but some of the note charts do change due.

-HO/PO's are smaller (much easier to spot)
-You can also get HO chords :D
-New engine allows HMX (Devs) to place HO/PO's where they actually appear in the song. The old RB1 engine generated them automatically based on timing :o
 
just an FYI to people, I noticed that you can buy the Rock Band drum kit for £19.99 in a high street audio/video/gaming store today!!!
 
Got rockband 2 today, just importing / downloading songs etc. Ive noticed not only do those three tracks not import, some of the others dont too, including tokyo hotel - monsoon :o can anyone confirm this? :)

RB2 can be had for 30 quid, quite a bargain if RB1 is rented and the songs imported, thats 160 songs for 30 quid (if a free online rental trial is used)! (plus 400ms points lol)

Monsoon does not transfer in the EU only. Same issue over licensing. For RB1 the licenses were purchased for just that game.

They got licensing for the songs for future use in their software but these songs/artists/record labels wouldn't agree for whatever reason.

However with 12 Iron Maiden Masters available for DLC I'm not too sad about the loss of RttH.

Monsoon is crap

Paranoid is a popular song but a bit dull to play (and a leg killer on drums :p)

Enter Sandman is wildly popular but should be fairly obvious why that didn't get a transfer :p
