OK - well it looks like my motherboard has finally died. I could replace it but it's socket 775 and I've been looking for a reason to swap to i7 or the new AMD chips so it seems as good a time as any!

My rigs watercooled, but I couldn't cool the chipset on my old board as the only parts I could find were from germany and cost a silly amount...

So I need (as cheaply as posible) a motherboard (with waterblocks) CPU (with waterblock) and memory (preferably 4-6GB). It needs to be better than my current setup (in sig) and obviously I will be heavilly overclocking :D

Any advice and recomendations much welcomed! :)

I think you should stay with sk775 for at least another 3-4 months. With a Q9550 clocked at 3.8Ghz there is no point in changing to i5 or i7 right now.

tbh just get a cheapish P45 mobo and wait it out

If I stick with 775, I need something I can watercool and that uses DDR2. Ideally also something with 16x 16x crossfire.

Any sugestions on boards/blocks (chipset already have cpu block).

:D

Well the X48 chipset mobo is doing xfire at x16-x16 and also uses DDR2 but unfortunately it will be very difficult to mount and chipset block on that mobo. However there is a mobo that comes with a chipset block but OCUK don't sell it anymore. The mobo is FoxConn Black Ops.
