Bit of household padding to cushion a mini harddrive inside ipod?

Hello. I've just upgraded my old ipod 3G 15gig, to a 40 gig ipod. I've got a thicker silver back plate, but there seems to be a bit of room in there when its sealed. I'm looking for a bit of padding I can put in the ipod to make it secure. Something that will sit on top of a harddrive against the silver back plate, inside the unit.

What will work and what will be safe?

Ok cool. I'll go and look for one now. It'll be ok sitting on top of the harddrive then? The drive might get a bit hot.
