Hi Guys,

At work we have a windows network which all works fine but I have been tasked with adding a mac to the network and allowing the user the ability to view all the network shares, print etc.

The issue I have is that I cannot seem to map a computers shared drives to the mac.

I can map individual shares to the mac but if I want to allow access to all the shares on our server, it throws a fit.

The user is a little remedial with computers in general and I want to make it as easy as possible. Essentially just allowing her to see the server in the 'Shared' list in finder and then when she clicks on that it will display all the shares in a list.

Any help would be really appreciated on this issue.

Thanks

Did you fill in the Workgroup and Domain details properly in the "Sharing" preference pane?

That's thrown me a few times.

Yeah that was all set up correctly, I basically needed to choose all of the drives bar a few that it couldnt access when it prompted me for the shares that I wanted available.

@TriedandTested: I literally got it sussed a few minutes before your post mate. Thanks for the help though, that link looked a little like a recap on what I just did so you were on the right track!

The thing that was confusing me was that when I specified a single share to view I was able to see all the others but they came up blank when I tried to access them. I just needed to choose all of them instead of one when it prompted me for the share I wanted access to. PICNIC problem really.

Cheers for the help chaps.
