I thought I'd just pimp my new exhaust, I got a Powerflow cat back system with a 3.5 inch backbox two weeks ago. After reading around the chap in Stafford at Unique Exhausts seemed the best to go to and I'm impressed with his work.

There is a small bit of burble at idle, but its pretty quiet unless you boot it. I just decided that a Mongoose would be too loud day to day for me.

I have a video of doing 30 ish to 90 ish starting from second gear. Apologies if you don't have Nokia multimedia player it was the only way I could hold the phone safely :o

That should dowload at a reasonable pace.

Nice one mate, thats still the standard air filter though yes? I have a 3" Powerflow on my MB6, nearly went for the Mongoose but was only available with a 4" tailpipe - too big, IMO.

Heres mine, not with the standard air filter as you can probably tell:D http://www.krikey.nildram.co.uk/civic/civic.mp3

how do u play it ?

Just played in IE6 for me, .mov plugin.

Induction definitely sounds nice...thats next on my list. I've changed insurers as well to one that is pretty good with mods (Adrian Flux).

Tim, O/T but does your Civic have vented front brake discs? I've been told they are meant to be standard and mine doesn't have them  I got some new rears last September, so they should be good for quite a while but vented fronts also on my list.

Not sure mate, my brother changed mine for me as the car had warped discs when I first got it:o

Pretty sure he put Integra ones on but I don't know what the old ones were, sorry.

And yes, induction, especially in 3rd gear sounds awesome:D Thats with a CAI and the cone filter in the front bumper, you may remember my thread where I got flamed for doing so:p

End of next month I'll get a set of vented front discs. Mine have never given me any problems. I've had a bit of fade that vented fronts might help with but at the time I was really giving it some welly.

I was really torn between the Mongoose system and a custom one but I just decided that a Mongoose would get right on my nerves after a while. So I went for a custom one and saved £100 as well...

Righto, as the mongoose boy, I shall endeavour to get a video today! Personally I can see why you'd find the Mongoose a bit intrusive but if you behave yourself it really isn't too bad :p Still both sound very nice and i'm glad your happy with them :)

I'll sort out a picture, mine is a 3.5" Jap style backbox..kinda like the Mongoose but smaller.

After reading around, Phil at Unique Exhausts in Stafford seemed like he knew his stuff and after seeing some of his work and weighing it all up I'm glad I went for it. It makes a bit of noise if I acclerate or under deacceleration but day to day its bearable.

I just couldn't justify a lot of noise and annoyance (I'll be doing 600 miles this weekend on motorways) for what isn't really a high performance car.

Edit: Skywalker had sent me a clip of the Mongoose when it was on his VTI and it sounded nice but I just knew it would annoy me after a while.

LOL so true, wait till you see the next stage of plans for the ATR , mind you it will probally still be bland :p

Bland eh? Oh well! ;) Looks the dogs imo with the rear spoiler and twin exhausts.

I was thinking, with a B18C4 engine (same as DC2 teg?) I should be able to get a decent induction kit. Blitz make them I think...I want one with a cold air feed or at least a heat shield.
