Bit Perfect Software

That question doesn't make much sense, you can't create a bit-perfect MP3 because by definition it's lossy. Unless you meant you want to create bit-perfect compressed copies of music, in which case FLAC is pretty popular. WMA Lossless and Apple Lossless are what you want to look at if you want to listen to them on portable players though.

Sorry, thats what I meant. I am populating my CD collection through Vista media centre atm. I want lossless audio which will then head over to my AV receiver.

FLAC is the way to go with this I take it?

If you want to easily access the audio via media centre, then the best option is WMA Lossless.

This is what I have ripped my audio collection to.

Ok, I'm using EAC and WMA 9. Quite amazed at the results so far and the time saving!!

Also a good job storgage is cheap!!
