So I haven't had this with my card before(wf3 7950 1150/[email protected])
When playing max Payne 3 when it cute to the video sections my card ramps upto doing 2'500-3'000 fps and it starts to squeal as soon as it goes back to gameplay the fps obviously comes down and the squeaking goes away.

Is this safe? As I'm pretty sure I read pumping out that much fps can cause damage or? What's the squealing? I'm guessing its related to the caps or vrm's? I can deal with the squealing as its only when the vids come in and doesn't do it with any other game as long as its safe not that I can do anything to stop the fps shooting up

Any advice is much appreciated

You can stop the squealing by using vsync. I had this a lot with my 7970 but it went away with vsync on.

I don't think it does any damage to the card physically, it's just a really annoying sound.
