Bites!

I keep getting bitten by something, I don't know what it is cause I NEVER see anything. I sometimes feel it, but can never see anything when I look. I've been getting it for AGES, sometimes my Mrs gets them too, but very rarely, which is strange cause we both live in the same house, sleep in the same bed, etc etc etc. Maybe there is something in my blood they like?

Now...I am obviously irritated by it but it doesn't bother me as much as it could, I've kind of got used to it now.

BUT...our newborn baby son (less than a week old) is now getting bitten too :(:( he has a total of 11+ bites on his head, face and neck and a few elsewhere on his body :( We really are gutted about this, its horrible to think that something is biting our baby boy!!!

We don't know what to do, what could it be? I don't really see anything flying around in our house despite having white walls throughout. I thought maybe it was bed bugs?? We are thinking about ditching our current bedding and buying brand new stuff, but what if that doesn't work :(

Any suggestions of things to do to kill whatever is doing this and rid us of this problem would be much appreciated as it is causing all of us a lot of distress :(

Cheers,

G

I'd speak to some pest people (rentokill or something), there's obviously something living somewhere so just get them in and nuke the house while you spend a couple of weeks away.

i dont think that gets rid of them tbh...

they can be a nightmare to totally remove.

You mean bed bugs are REAL?

they are very real.... nasty little critters!

if you have them, often the only way to be totally rid of them is to throw everyting on a big bonfire and start again. this can mean beds, bedding, sofas, carpets....

I would have thought if it were bed bugs we would have seen them? Or their excriment? But I'm really not sure.

It's horrible.

Ok, we woke up this morning and he had 4 horrific bites on his arms. We need to buy the following things and would like to know which high street stores stock them.

1) Something to kill flying bugs maybe some kind of spray we could fill the house with and go to my parents for the rest of the long weekend.

2) A small preventative thing like one of those purple flying ****** zappers.

3) Fine netting to cover any open windows.

Where can we buy these things TODAY?

My mum is lending me a steam cleaner and we are going to do all the carpets, the matress etc etc.

We are going to try and get all our bedding washed and if we can't we will bin it all and buy new.

I'm going to ask the landlord if anyone living here before us had pets and we are going to go to the pharmacy to ask their advice.

Fully had enough of this :(

It's heart breaking to see bites on him like this :(

How long do the bite marks take to disappear? I think flea bites take a stupidly long amount of time, like 6 weeks or something.

If it's bed bugs, you'll typically see a series of bites in a line, close together.

Bad things, sometimes get them in hostels :(

EDIT:

Bed bugs hide themselves in mattresses, within bed frames, under bed bases, within bed headboards, behind loose wallpaper, within paintings, wall sockets, and telephones.

Wrath of Khan anyone...?

The ones on me last for AGES, but only cause they itch so much that I scratch them untill they get sore and scab over.

The ones on him from this morning have faded slightly already to look at, but if you run your finger over them they are still very prominent.

/edit

There is always more than 1 bite very close to another.

But I just can't understand how we wouldnt have seen them if they are bed bugs, from what I've read they are massive.
