Hi Guys

i bought the below for my bitfenix shinobi case

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-049-BX

I fitted all fans yesterday in my case how i want them for some nice air flow. (im waiting for my mboard replacement to be delivered today ) but when i was testing one of them the other day. i plugged it into the 3 pin fan slot and it turned on sure enough spinning away. but no LED came on.

there is another 2 pin adapter which you can hook up to the fan for the LED + and -

my question is. should the LED's work solely off the 3 pin fan connector then the + and - 2 pin cable is just used for turning on or off? or do i need to connect the 2 pin led cable also?

if so, i have an msi g45 z77 mboard. would these then plug into the JLED socket? or do i need to buy something that comes of a molex connection to connect them?

I bought the below to help connect all my fans up, would this also work for the led's if the 2 pin connector is needed?

thanks for any help

Sorry if i just havent picked out the right info from your review, but does the led come on with the three pin connection or do i need to use the 2 pin also? or is the 2 pin just used for controling the LED's?

The 2 pin is just to make and break the LED circuit. I don't have any of their LED fans but I'd expect a 2 pin jumper cable to have been supplied so you could close the circuit so the LED works.

The pic is from my review of the Hydra Pro LED/Fan controller. You can see the little loop in the bottom left corner of the fan, which is a 2 pin jumper to complete the circuit for the LED as Tealc has said. The loop can be removed and the spare cable you see below the fan can be attached and then linked to a controller to toggle the LEDs on and off. If you dont have an LED controller leave the loop in place and keep that cable somewhere safe.

If the loop is still connected and the LED isn't lighting up you have a faulty fan

Got my Mboard replacement last night. rebuilt computer with all fans in, all fans working and lit up blue :D. saved me ahell of a lot of time taling to you guys. i would have pulled the two pin cable out which closes circuit and would have been trying to find somewhere to connect the led + and - wires too XD.

i'd already taken the two circuit closing wires off the top two fans so had to take these off and put them back on. but defiantly saved me some pain staking hours.

thanks again guys!

(PC on average now 7 degrees cooler than what it was with just cpu heatsink so there doing good! running BF3 everything on ultra and all other settings on highest like 16x anti aliasing etc. temps dont go above 50, sitting idle cores are anywhere between 19-25 degrees!)
