Hey guys,

I was wondering if the bitfenix LEDs HAVE to be plugged into the molex connector or just off the MOBO fan headers?

Just my last strip was a 45cm from another brand which did fine.

I've just plugged the bitfenix strip into two seperate fan headers PWN-FAN and CHA-FAN.... It blew them both (confirmed non functional with another fan and first set of LEDs.

There is zero in the way of instructions on the box, and besides, if you used molex what the hell would you need the fan header for!?...

Well if it comes with both, then I'd assume you need both. Try just the molex, if they work then you likely need just molex, and the fan controller can adjust the brightness perhaps? I don't know sounds a bit strange if I'm honest, if they blew out my fan headers I'd send them back under DSR.

Oh dear... You definitely do not connect it to a fan header to power it. You connect the LED strip to the molex connector linked above^^^ that's what that little connector is for.

That's it.

My other LEDs worked fine and those were much longer lengths!

I'm abit peeved that I've got two blown headers and its due to the zero documentation with the damned thing.

Typical :(

I'm guessing that you connected the strip directly to the four pin header on the motherboard. Admittedly it would be quite perplexing if you don't have two brain cells to rub together..

you are supplied with all you need, a molex extension to 2-pin connector and a 2-pin to 4-pin extension which fits to the strip itself.
