I have a couple of questions about the airflow of the BitFenix Prodigy. Number one, will I have to upgrade/add to the existing case fans to achieve good temperatures? Number two, would swapping the vented side panel for a windowed one have a bad impact on airflow, or be a problem in any way? Any advice or help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

If Its the M ITX verson, when swapping out the side panel for a window panel will make your GPU temps suffer real bad.

From my experience with the Prodigy ITX, my system was full watercooled with custom windowed side panels. I have since swapped out my GPU for a none watercooled GPU as I am working on a new build. The GPU gets that hot doing just the basic of things (youtube etc) I have to leave the side panel off.

It's the MITX version. Ah okay, do you think adding a 230mm fan to the front and another two 120mm fans to the top would help keep the GPU temps down and allow me to add the window panel, or still a no go?

Makes no difference the card will be right up against the window it's a poor design from Bitfenix the window should have been on the other side.

Basically what edGfaCTor said. The gap is to small to allow any circulation around the GPU.

Check my prodigy build log out, you'll see some pics and you'll see how close it is.

Oh I see, that's a bit of a shame but I guess there's nothing I can do. Onto my other question then, would I be seeing good temperatures with the stock fans, or should I upgrade/add more?

I think it only comes with 2 x 120mm fans. Than fans seem ok but you can get better if you really need (depends how much heat your components output. Best bet would be to either move both the 120mm fans to the front and add a rear 140mm exhaust. Or get a 200/230mm fan for the front.

So leave the top alone then? I'll go for the 230mm as there's only 2 case fan headers on my motherboard.

It depends on what heat sinks etc you are using. But yeah, unless you really need to then leave the top alone, it will allow for natural convection of hot air anyway.
