Hi guys and girls,

I would really appreciate some help. I always used to build my own computers and knew what was what. I've been out of the game for some years having purchased a laptop which is now on its last legs.

I'm happy I will know how to build the rig myself still but have no idea what's the best value components to put in. I've settled on the case which will be a bitfenix prodigy in black. Just love those cases but now need help with the internals. I won't need a monitor, keyboard or mouse but will need windows of some description.

The computer will be used as a home pc for my boys school work and Internet browsing but I want it to have some punch for light gaming. I will be playing world of warcraft and similar games. If it could play BF4 on high settings or medium settings smoothly then that would be superb.

Not fussed about whether it's amd or Intel, Nvidia or amd as long it's going to last a few years before need over hauling.

No budget as such but needs to be as budget minded as possible. Not fussed about ssd and water cooling. This really will be a home pc that will let daddy play a few games when he's home alone and handle them well.

I really have lost touch with components and what's good and what's not so if you good people could spec me up a build that would be awesome. Just think future proofing for games but on a budget hopefully you guys will spec me right.

Wow, such a quick reply. A few questions.

I didn't stipulate but the motherboard must have wireless as the room it will be going into I can't feed a cable for wired connection. Does that board have wifi? Can't see it.

Also will the cooler that comes with the cpu not be good enough?

Are there any ways to have a similar cheaper build using amd?

Thanks keep the suggestions coming.

Another question, the pc has to be small form factor. I like the prodigy but what would others use over this in terms of cases I may be swayed.

I'm waiting for the corsair 240 air to come out in September which is mini/micro atx for my next build. Otherwise there is the corsair 250D which is a micro atx case which I think has good reviews.
