Hello,

I'm looking to make something that will last at least 5 years. I'm not a heavy game player (but I do like to play the odd game every now and then) I mainly use my computer (an ageing acer revo) for media.

I would like this machine to be as quiet as possible.

I already have the case (Bitfenix Prodigy) now I just have to put the bits inside. This is what I was going to buy, could you please make changes if needed!

ASRock Z97e-itx
i5-4690k or i3-4330 or G3258
Nocta NH-U12s
Corsair Vengeance 1600 1x8gb (Concerned with heatsink clearance)
PSU - Seasonic or Be Quiet unit. Not sure.
GPU - Hoping to run on the cpu's graphics at the moment, but I'd want a silent card maximum £100.
+ SSD & 4tb HDD

As I said I don't really play games. But I do watch lots of HD media so I want something that could potentially deal with 4k material when it starts to come out in the future.

Thanks for looking.

Jon

edit - I have no interest in overclocking.

What's your max budget for this?

I think the CPU cooler max height is 160mm so this cooler *should* fit, might want to reconfirm that though

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £161.99
1 x Powercolor Radeon R9 270X "PowerBank" 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £139.99
1 x MSI Z97I Gaming AC Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £109.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 4TB 5900RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST4000DM000) HDD £109.99
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £74.99
1 x Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black/Red (HX21C11BRK2/8-OC) £67.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £46.99
1 x Raijintek Themis Direct Contact CPU Cooler £19.99
Total : £731.93 (includes shipping : ).

Also got an R9 270X in there, a nice GPU :)

Cooler is possibly OTT for no overclocking anyway, and a lower down Z97 board + an i5 4440 would be a good combo. RAM is low profile so should fit under the cooler

I built this one for my other half but chucked in a custom water loop, and a GTX 670. But would have gone the R9 route if they were out then. Gave up a large HDD for a 1TB 2.5" as i put a rad in the front. Hope it's some sort of help.
