BitFenix Prodigy ITX build

UPDATE 4.1
the pics may not look great but its way more tidy and easy to pull stuff out and change if i need too :) also i got rid of the HDD cage to make room for my H100 (when ever it arrives!!) as i didnt really need it.

i moved the SSD to the top of the bottom cage....... to show it off lol

the samsung SSD is IMO better than the M4!

Is that stock Cooler of yours as loud as mine? Omg it gives me a headache the rest f the case would be fine too if all my fans were plugged into a fan controller as there at full pelt.

the bitfenix fans only run @ 800rpm MAX! so they are running full pelt and all i can hear is the stock cooler yes :( im going to by some corsair air SP fans as they got a gold award on oc3d.net and repalce the stock fans on the h100 when i get it :)

when i get the cash i will also change the stock bitfenix fans for corsair AF fans for the case so my mini fan controller will come into its own then as i wont want those fans at full pelt!!! :)

i think ive seen them, corsair finally making some quiet fans, congrats to them
its a great build i only have a couple questions tho, whats the paint quality like inside, was easy to scratch getting that psu in? and how hard are the fan filters to get to?

My case is here, My case is here.. but I'm here in the office with it :( Need to carry it home tonight.. Mwhaha..

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY you must be over the moon :) are you gonna do a log so i can see what you do?

there is only one real fan filter which is for the psu but as I have an ax650 the fan only comes on when the psu is at 35% load!!! so its never really on lol but it is easy to slide out from the rear without removing anything :) as for the quality of the the case and paint work, I have been really manhandling the thing ESPECIALY the psu area coz it is tight.

Iv not marked anything it really is hard wearing stuff

Yeah, going to do a log, dunno when I will get to build it at the mo, I have my kids round this weekend, but thats only til sunday evening, so maybe then.

Plus gives me time to charge the camera.

what you need to do now is either change logo on the case to apple logo or change your wallpapers to have bitfenix logo!

Looks good, by the way why did you mount fan controller inside?

Because he probabaly wanted 2 fans on the top of the case like me.

aye, coz i want to use all the fan placements to keep the best air flow and you only get one ODD which you cant use anyway if you want to have two top and front fans :)

Buzz been reading the is post and its great i see what you mean about the h80 not fitting. if you didnt have the top 2 fans could the h80 fit in the top maybe?

I only ask because I wanting to get my system ordered soon.

230mm fan front h80 in top(if it fits) and 120mm rear

but move the h80 90 degrees so the sumps face the side of the case not the front if you get me.

Well have check my build, and I have issues, psu is one, and heatsink :( so I am going to check tomorrow and I can replace.

You cable braiding :O its just on another level, how did you find getting the 24-pin motherboard pins out, I struggle as hell to get these out usually, I resorted to cutting them out of the connector itself and just replacing the connector the tools never seem to work for me. Some advice would be awesome

yer it should do but you will loose all top exhaust meaning you only have one 120mm exhausting so you may find temps a little higher? would you not consider an H100?

bad times mate, so are you gonna replace the mobo? whats wrong with the psu and heat sink?

thanks ninja -

i first of all pushed the pin removal tool into the connector block then pushed the cable up into the block while holding the tool so the little pins on the metal pin were pushed right up into the tool while the tool was being pushed down as far as it would go. when i was happy that the tool was touching the bottom of the connector block and the cable was pushed up as far as it would go i just pulled down on the cable, some came out easy and others i had to wrap the cable around my hand and pull really hard.

tbh i went through two sets of atx pin removal tools due to them being so fragile, i bought two from a competitor which were very expensive, like £8 reach then i went on the dock of a BAY and found one for £1.50 which was really strong and perfect :)

Just for your reference, losing 1 fan does not increase temperatures, especially when it's the radiator that has a fan directly on it. Putting a fan above a 120mm radiator, reduces it's cooling ability because air is going up above the rad, and not through it.

Psu is non-modular, but i managed to get it in.. but the cables can wrap round the case a few times as they are soo long.. so going to shorten them, just waiting for the tools.

And heatsink was that Vemon one... now while it fits, it means I cant have a top fan, so am just going to put the stock one in until i get paid and then likely get something watery.

as i pointed out he would loose all the top exhaust and i speculated the temps may go up i didnt say they would.

im planning on doing the same tbh, although i only have a couple of long cables i think it would tidy the case up a treat, let me know how it goes :)

I can't wait to see what you do with water in your case. :D

And Buzz, that internal fan controller, genius! Seriously I can't believe I have never seen it before.
