Hi all,

Was just wondering if you can build a BitFenix Prodigy Mini for around £500-£600 for gaming and general purpose stuff??

I have an Windows 7 and a monitor already, just need the tower. Be good to see what people can come up with?? :)

Thank for the warm welcome, been looking a trying to do a build with this case for a while, looked at other cases but always seems to be coming back to it!!

I have used a combination of both builds to come us with this;

YOUR BASKET
1 x HIS HD 7850 IceQ X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (H785QN2G2M) with Tomb Raider & Bioshock PC Games £161.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77N-WIFI Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £94.99
1 x Intel Core i3-3220 3.30GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £92.99
1 x BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Case - Midnight Black £69.98
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020059-UK) £54.98
1 x Toshiba (7K1000.D) 500GB SATA 6GB/s 32MB Cache - OEM (DT01ACA050) HDD £42.95
1 x Adata XPG Gaming v1.0 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AX3U1600GC4G9-2G) £39.95
1 x LG GH24NS95 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £18.98
Total : £590.92 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Let me know if it's any good, went with the more expensive graphics card due to the games it comes with!!

Heat shouldn't be an issue, the 7850's are pretty cool, especially the IceQ's and the 3220 doesn't shed much heat either.

The loudest part of the build may be the stock cooler.

I use the Prodigy as my spare pc with a Celeron CPU and standard cooler.

Heat will not be a issue.

I did change the front fan to my spare Bitfenix 230mm which come from my Shinobi XL, I found this a little noisy - more wind noise but soon forgot about it. I keep meaning to test it with a better 230mm or go back to the original 120mm.

Edit: If you do decide to change the front fan I would look at a decent one, using the fan below in my Shinobi XL case.

I use a gigabyte Z77N-WIFI in my prodigy, I uncoupled the wifi connectors from the back plate and mounted the aerials inside the case. Beware that the motherboard only has 1 chassis fan connector, so you will need a splitter cable if you want to install more fans. My Pentium runs super quiet even with 3 chassis fans, most audible item in my case is the 460 gpu.
