The GF has had a Prodigy build since about October last year, and I've been unhappy with the spray painted DVD drive since it went in, but with no official stealth drive bay cover, and my utter failure at turning a standard 5.25" cover into a stealth cover, I turned my interest toward the Shinobi stealth cover (of which I have a black on in my Shinobi XL).

It's not a straight forward fit at all (different mounting for starters), and you will need a spare standard Prodigy drive bay cover to butcher for parts.

Essentially, you cut off the four lugs on the Shinobi stealth cover, sand down the two side edges of the Shinobi cover (as it's about 2mm too wide, and bows if you simply try to fit it in the Prodigy's front panel), and then epoxy the "ears" (the two large lugs) from the stock faceplate, to the side of the freshly sanded Shinobi cover (I did this with the Shinobi cover already fitted into the Prodigy front panel, and masking taped into place, so as to get the fit spot on).

Then you need to mount the DVD drive in the bay, without it's fascia, and (certainly in the case of the Sony drive I was using) cut away a bit of the DVD tray (as it fouls the bulges on the "flip" part of the Shinobi cover).

The end result:

that looks really nice. i wish bitfenix would just release one for the prodigy without modding lol

I asked BitFenix (both on their Facebook page, and by email, as well as asking the rep who frequents these forums) to produce one, and have not once received a reply (even a negative one).

I'd waited long enough, and assumed that an official one wouldn't be forthcoming, so took the only option that was left!

It's a relatively simple to perform mod (although fiddly) though, even for the novice modder :)
