Hey guys,

I have just set up my bitfenix recon fan controller for the first time. It kind of works but I think I might have done something wrong during the install.

Once I run the recon application it loads the control page for me however this does not update until I manually run the fancontroller_daemon executable everytime. Does anyone have any idea why this might be the case?

Thanks :)

Ok thanks that has helped.

Could anyone please confirm for me how many physical pins there are for the USB connector on the actual PCB of their recon?

I realise the USB connector is 4 pin but I just want to check that everyones PCB has four pins.

Thanks :)

Yeh I did notice that but really I was looking for control over the network as well. I have got it working but still having a few issues with the USB connection.

If anyone does have a Bitfenix Recon it would be great if you could check the number of USB pins on the PCB for me. I need to know whether it is three or four.

Thanks :)

USB Pins on my recon is 3, 4th is for pwm which recon doesnt do.

U can use both Phoebetria and network control from my knowledge so why not give it a shot. The fan curves you can set on Phoebetria are also very handy if you use your temp probes properly

Thanks for your response :)

So just to confirm are you talking about the connection that I have circled in the picture below?

The number of pins that the USB connection goes onto is 3?

I just checked mine there and 4 pin connector goes into 3 pins on the PCB, the red wire isnt connected to a pin at all.

That's interesting then and kind of what I was expecting. I recently soldered a fourth pin onto the board as I was having problems and it was second hand etc.

Seems pretty strange there is not meant to be a fourth pin then even though there are four wires on the connector.
