BitFenix Recon Owners

I take it there's no way to eliminate the full speed fan test every time they come on in software alone? I'm not talking about boot up fan test, I can live with that, it's just the change from silent running to gaming/video.

If you need testers for v2 I'd be happy to give it a whirl.

unfortunately there's no way for us to disable that "feature" we only send it the new RPM what it does with it after we send it is completely out of our control.

Keep your eyes here or on our forums for beta testing, we generally open our releases to testers before rolling out major versions. Just a warning though, we don't have anything even remotely usable for v2 yet so it will be a little while. If you're anything like me i usually drive myself nuts waiting for new releases. This version will have remote access out of the gate and it's an area neither of us have ventured before so there is a ton of testing just for that piece alone. Our goal is to make it just as easy as Phoebetria v1 is today :)

Just thought i would drop a quick note about something i just learned while coding for version #2 about this "Feature"... the reason the Recon goes to MAX during startup is because it's determining the MAX RPM. This also explains why sometimes MAX isn't MAX because i assume the fans aren't always spun up as fast as they can go during the test :)

Exactly. =)

Someone said something about a recon 2 on facebook???? One with ...................................................................................................................................................................................................................... what? who censored that?

looking good. can't wait to load the new version!

In many ways the interface is simplified. We (me and Chris) still need to work out how to support multiple fan controllers though. It's tricky in many ways but we'll get there.

I guess the biggest change will be that Phoebetria will now support the remote access stuff.

Ive got a slight issue with 1.4 I might have something configured wrong might be a bug not sure.

Ive got 2 g/14 probes attached to mine going to each rad, Ive then got a fan attached to each output. Ive configured the software so that fans 1-3 use sensor 1 and fans 4-5 use sensor 2 allowing the appropriate fans to kick in when the water in the rad starts to get warm. What Ive then done is put the other probes in areas throughout the case allowing me to get various ambient style readings in the software. While this works fine on full manual when on auto the readings of 3-5 get changed so it reads 1-1-1 2-2 and the other probes arnt listed. Is there any way to keep the readings of the other probes when using auto so that I get all 5 readings while keeping the fans controlled automatically

I'm not 100% sure I understand the issue :( In auto mode does phoebetria's display match what's on the Recon's panel?

I think the only issue and correct me if i'm wrong stuie, when using probe affinity the controls in the client show the temperatures for their linked probes. Stuie would like to have them display the real temperatures on those channels because even though his profiles aren't using them he would still like to know their temperatures.

100% correct

and better put that my attempt

and the front display still shows the individual channels correctly rather than the linked channels I know they are linked due to the little number next to the temperature but would like to see the values of the other probes too

any news on v2?

It's being worked on :) It's functional, but supporting both the ReconV1 and unreleased new Recon is more problematic than I first thought it would be... getting there though!

Edit:

What I can say is that V2 will include support for network control/monitoring for those people who find it useful. That and the migration to the Qt5 is probably the biggest visible change, although the GUI is being redesigned as well. The JSON features (I'll leave everyone to read between the lines as to what a JSON interface enables) of Qt5 are being used, hence the migration to Qt5.

Hello.
I created the account quickly just to come here and Thank you guys for the amazingly useful app to control the Bitfenix Recon fan controller. Bitfenix should be paying you guys royalties on it for the extra sales. I absolutely love it. Thank you.
