BitFenix Ronin - Your Review Sample, Here!

I have a fair bit of experience when it comes to contacting Bit Fenix, and the advice I can give you is to keep mailing them, mail every address you can find and you'll get there in the end :D

on a lighter note, do you think there will be a ronin xl? this case seems to fix the gripes I have with my shinobi xl (those being front airflow and that I had to get the saw out to the case to get a push/pull setup in the top) :D

Hi, would have bought the Ronin but two little gripe's no option of bigger fans 200mm + no fan control add these ->Perfic. So the Raider was my choice in stead + £1 cheaper. lol

Agree regarding the shinobi xl airflow, it's woefully poor. A ronin xl would be an interesting case. It looks to have much better front intake. Noticed that a lot of bitfenix cases have closed front designs.

One of the reasons why I don`t spec Bitfenix cases, as there are better cases for the same price or cheaper that offer better value.
Aside from the Prodigy(mITX model) and the Ronin, they don`t have a lot to offer.

Had the xl for a while now, i do like a lot of things about it, excellent cable management, black interior, well built. But the lack of airflow is a major let down. Prior to it i was using this.

Great case for cooling, but its plain aluminium interior and lack of cable management were my main gripes. My system at the time was an i7 920 @4.2ghz with sli gtx 470's, the cpu and cards ran 5c cooler in the A70F compared to the xl.

Iv been up to exactly that :) Mail em all :P

Haha uv done some serious investigating here :) Im slightly worried about ronin airflow tbh! Standard spectre's dragging air through the holes on front may not be powerful enough.. It will be something i seriously look at when reviewing it case airflow/hotspots/temps.

Well i have a CM 690 II at the moment which is very much a similar case in every aspect! So i have a good comparison at the same ish price point. So im also very interested to see

@xbournex

Does the coolermaster megaflow 200mm fan fit the top of raider ok?

Have just read that the mounting holes on the front are too small for it.

was about to say 'wish I'd seen this in time', but since the winners still haven't recieved samples....

anyway, back to my actual question: will this be available in a white version?

would love it if it were, as it seems to solve most of the issues I have with my shinobi (although I slightly prefer the look of the shinobi), which I had to seriously mod in order to fit my (2x240) radiators (I will eventually get round to writing it up so people can see what I did with it!)

To answer my own question :p

Received the fan today it doesn't fit the top either, about 1-2mm too big, hits the motherboard edge. So have just mounted it on the outside at the top for the time being.

Time to get a new case me thinks! The Raider just has too many annoying niggles lately :(

What a let down this thread turned into.
Seems kind of pointless now, considering the Ronin is already available to buy.
I also feel it is a little unfair on the guys selected, considering xbournex has`nt even bothered to keep them in the loop as to what is happening.
A very poor show indeed. :(
