Ok, I decided that I am going to sell my Cooler Master ATCS 840 as I do not like it no more (due to the fact that it is massive :o

I've been looking around for a sleek looking case that is also cheap and I have only found the BitFenix Shinobi. I like it because it is the only one that looks nice, has full black design and best of all, does not have the side panel opening for a fan (which in my opinion just looks ugly and is utterly useless).

Anyway, the only thing I don't seem to like about this case is the HDD drive bays.

So I want to know if they are mounted with screws or not so I can easily remove the whole HDD drive bay and build a custom one for 2 HDDs and 1 SSD.

How I will make it does not matter as of now and I also have some other mods in mind, but I will be making a thread about the mods when/if I get the case.

thinking I may do something similar with my white shinobi,
the cages are riveted, but powder coating is done prior to assembly, so at least there won't be any ugly visible primer lines to deal with!

video here shows which rivets you need to remove:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5nHV8YrDv8 it's an hour long but I know it's in there somewhere!

Thanks for clearing that up. I guess it's alright since they are separately powder coated.

The bit about the HDD bay is at about 14:00 on the video but he doesn't show exactly how he removed them :) although I'm pretty sure I will be fine :)
