hey guys

im looking at buying a new case as my sidepannel no longer stays on (serves me right for buying a cheap case)

so the two cases that tickle my fancy are:

the Bitfenix Shinobi white

and the NZXT phantom white

obviously the NZXT is 40-50 quid more expensive depending on getting the 410 or the full tower.

so can anybody offer some guidance

thanks :)

i have the 410 and its a good case, silent and easy to make the build but its more a personal choice when it comes to cases (looks anyway)

Both are similar in build quality -- the Phantom has more room, more features (fan control) and looks better imo. I've reviewed both and would lean towards the Phantom, it has more style.

It really depends on how tight your budget is ;)

Picked up a 410 from the Clearance lines last week and transferred everything across from my old case. I also switched out my stock intel cooler for a Gelid Tranquillo.

This is the first case I have bought in 8 years so was a little nervous dismatling and transferring everything. Needless to say I took my time. 3 hours later I was done and extremely happy with the results. I did a bit of a photo log and will try and post it this evening.

The cable management isn't a problem, although the rubber seals like to come away from the case if you are not careful. Ample room round the back of the mobo tray. Fans are ridiculously quiet when on the low setting and moderate when on high.

I have the Shinobi in white, and it's a good case for the price. But if you're going to go up to the Phantom's price bracket, I'd personally go for the CM-690 II advanced in white :)
Not really a fair comparison otherwise.

The Phantom is a case with great potential and cooling opportunities. That being said, im not a fan of the styling and i feel it's a little over priced.

The Shinobi is my favourate as it has clean 'understated; looks and enough cooling and expansion room for many different setups. And, its cheaper. :)

I have the black version of the NZXT Phantom. This one:

And can say it's a brilliant case. I have no opinion one way or the other on the shinobi not having one obviously. But I think the phantom looks great, plenty of space inside and loads of features (external usb 3.0 and e-sata, fan controller built in to the top of the unit).

If you want any other info/have any questions about the phantom I'd be happy to try and answer them for you :)

Phantom looks tacky imo, and definitely not worth that much, so I would go for the Shinobi, hands down (already have 2 in my household)

Shinobi for me. Simple, clean design but looks great. Not really in to the bling bling looks of the phantom. A little bit tacky for my liking. As said above though, cases are very much a personal choice and everyone will have a completely different opinion on what case they like.

I have a Phantom 410 black with the white bits here & there. The cable management system is very nice and lots of room on the back of the MoBo tray, however the rubber edges around the holes of the cable management do like to come off when shoving 24 pin MoBo cables through but other than that it's good.
Plenty of room for more fans - however I did disconnect the fan controller as I'm allowing my MoBo to do that for me, however the fans are pretty quiet.
ps lots of room for drives etc

Unfortunately I can't comment on your other case as I've never used one.
