I'm thinking this case might be for me, if someone with some more info can comment on:

  • If the fans are 3pin/4pinPWM/Molex ended
  • If the side panels can be swapped over, move the window to the mobo side and just have the plain black one on show for 'business mode' running

Cheers :)

It's a slightly different case but I'm also worried about my cooler not fitting in?
As in this pic the space between the top of the motherboard and the top of the case is minimal, finding it hard to find reviews that measure this, or even photos of the cooler installed showing the overhang. Cooler is a Zalman CNPS10X Performa pretty much: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-046-ZA&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395

My mobo seems to have the socket mounted fairly down on the pcb though, so perhaps not a worry? :)

Perhaps this thread needs a title change, didn't want to spam the forum! Perhaps: BitFenix Shinobi + CPU fitment questions

There is actually a version of the Shinobi sold without a window, you could just get that. But yes I believe you could swap the side panels.

This states CPU coolers up to 170mm will fit.

This states that CPU coolers up to 161mm will fit.

According to the Zalman website the CNPS10X Performa is 152mm tall. So you shouldn't have any problems.

Looking through the pictures I've downloaded of the Shinobi it seems like the fans have 3pin connectors.

Cheers, the Anadtech has it shipping with 2 3pin fans, Bit-Tech just 1 3pin fan. Good info though!

I'm kinda going off the case, I want to suspend the 2-3 HDDS I'll have in there and the layout is a bit restrictive for that. Sees nice enough for the price though!

what fans have you added, if any to it? how you find the quality and the cooling? what cooler you got, and how much clearance did you have left?

I added 2 120mm Xilence fans to the front,The build quality is great there are a lot of review's on the case so take a look.My cooler is a Akasa venom,Clearance will be added later im not home yet.

Just took a quick look at your cooler,And it will fit with ease don't worry,I no this because i did have a noctua NHD-14,and this cooler is 9mm's taller than yours :D

cheers. I have read a few reviews and looks ok. I was thinking of adding a Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler. I was not going to get the windowed version, which did you get? Each case I look at seems to be going out of stock at the moment so this is my third choice now I think.
