Does anyone else use the Bitfenix Spectre Pro 200mm fans ?

Ive just bought 2 from here, both of them are making a loud clicking/grating noise. Ive done the usual and checked to see if the fans are flicking anything but the cables are out of the way, it sounds like the bearing mechanism thats making the noise.

One would be bad luck but to have 2 that make the same noise

If it's on a controller then that's the issue. My 230mm spectre pro did the same.

Ive tested them on the motherboard, fan controller and direct to the psu with the included molex adapter and its still the same.

When connected to the motherboard they were only spinning at 590rpm, is their a reason for that as they are 900rpm fans.

Was it noticeably slower? Could just be the rpm read out is wrong, that or the motherboard either can't give it full power of you've connected to a 5/7v head.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z77X D3H

This is with both the fans connected to the motherboard, Fan0 is obviously my CPU fan, Fan1 snd Fan2 are the Bitfenix after running for about 15 mins.

One of my Spectre Pros, a 120mm fan made a light grinding sound and slightly annoying tick sound, especially when mounted off vertical.

I dropped something on it and broke the fan before I investigated the bearing, as I might have added some oil to alleviate the issue because it was a nice fan.

My 200mm Spectre Pro is loud and annoys me, will get rid of it soon. Thought a 200mm fan would run quieter than my 140mm's, was wrong. It's not airflow noise it's just vibration/motor noise.

I always suggest when buying a 200mm fan, if you want silence go for a CM MegaFlow, if you want performance go for a spectre pro, though the MegaFlow is still a fantastic performing fan, iirc it comes in at around 110cfm.

I wouldn't even consider the 200mm Spectre a performance fan still, if you put it near any kind of fan filter it is pretty weak for the noise it makes. :( You have different experience with yours? It is just 800 RPM anyway.

Of the 2 Spectre Pro fans i bought one of them was really bad with a clicking and grating, i ran them for around 3 hours this afternoon just incase they needed a break in period for grease or fluid to get up to temp and work. After the 3 hours or so they were still the same, one worse than the other.

Ive just turned the PC on and the front one (the worse) is nowhere near as bad, no idea why that is, the other one still has a noticeable click but it wasn't as bad as the other, they are being run off the motherboard at the min, i'll try them on the fan controller later.

Ive got the Megaflow fans here as the Bitfenix Spectre Pro fans have replaced them, only reason i decided to change them is when you put your hand in front of the Megaflow fans their is very little air coming off them. They are certainly quieter than the Bitfenix and the LED's are a lot brighter but as far as cooling goes they give off very little air, hardly suprising at 700rpm, the Bitfenix Spectre Pro are 900rpm and you can certainly feel the difference in the air they blow compared to the Megaflow fans.

I'm sticking the the Cooler Master Megaflow 200mm fans, the clicking/grating noise on the Bitfenix fans was a bit annoying, it would come and go. They are louder as well than the cooler master fans, if i want more air i'll just turn them up on the fan controller.

I cannot comment on the spectre pro's, but the regular spectre's are better fans anyway from what i can see. Admitadly, the pro's do look better however.

I have 5 spectre fans (2 120mm blacks not being used) 2 120mm whites and a 230mm whte, no clicking or scratching at all from those.
