Hi Guys!

Kul1 hasn't been around here for a while now has he... That's cause he's told me that I could give him the big boot to his big bottom :p Kidding. In all due respects, he's a very busy man, and he's asked me to jump in here.

Now, Kul1 and the rest of the team, are located in the wee little island called Taiwan. Myself on the other hand, I'm in Vancouver Canada, a couple thousand miles away from them. Kul1 isn't "gone" forever, as he might be popping in and out occasionally.

I've been snooping for about a week now, and this forum is quite an interesting place to be. A lot of open minds here :D

Anyways, over the course of the next week or two, I hope to bring you guys some exciting news from BitFenix.

Cheers for now!

Ooh, another BitFenix rep :)

This exciting news... would it happen to be an end-user review of a Shinobi XL :) *hint hint*, or actually anything about the Shinobi XL :)

Welcome though, and it should be interesting to have another rep. Hope you bring us some nice interesting ideas :)

kd

Actually, I was hoping you guys would bring us some interesting ideas ;)

Yikes. 3 Hours of sleep and I've got an essay to write... Ah well. Here goes :D

-Shinobi XL: announcement should be available in the coming week or two. In regards to a white Shinobi XL, we first release a base SKU, watch the market react, and then strike where necessary. Not a bad idea with the original accessories. We do include 1 5.25"-2.5/3.5" adaptor. There's way more features (water wise) to compensate for a fan controller. (See bottom for more on fan controller)

Custom combination of alchemy cables? What do you mean by that?

Announcement for fan controllers should be available in the coming weeks as well. I'm very excited for these ones too.

One thing I would like to mention, is that Kul1 is still in charge of sending samples in this forum. That's one thing he's not giving up. So... he's the one you guys should be buying beer for... :p Typically, for me, when I do end user reviews, I not only cater a specific target market, but to people who have lots of things to compare to. I think anyone could get a good camera, restate the manufacturer specs, and then write a blurb saying "I like this part, because it's great for this part". Basically, a generic review, you know what I mean? Those reviews aren't "bad", as it does get publicity, but if you were a reader, your reaction would probably be "Yeah, I could written that review the same way too. Format pictures, manufacturer specs, blurb, done"

180mm fans... Hrm.. I do believe they are just smaller 200mm's are they not? Do you have any fan mount dimensions? 180mm x 4 = 720, yes? 1080 rad....

Hrm. I'll bring this up to the team. Good idea though.

Im sure you'll be pleasantly suprised with our fan controller..er...er..er.zz Quick preview if you search "Computex BitFenix" on youtube. :P
;)

Can't say anything about the price...

Hrm.. that Phobya looks interesting. If the 180mm fans actually have, 180mm x 180mm mounts on the holes, Then I would say it would fit (2 on each side).

We do have the mounts on both our 200 and 230, but like said in picture (which fan is that?). The blades are wider than 180mm. What I would do, is grab our strongest, 230mm fan, and attach 2 on each side. I believe 180mm was Silverstone's idea of their "own" fan, and that's why it isn't really a standard.

*Cough*
Did everyone go quiet after I said I wasn't in charge of contests? :(

I got a 2 can dine for 8.99 at McDonalds in Canada :D
I'm only bugging you guys. Humans need sleep... I wonder why I haven't done so regularly, or lately :p

Who runs the fb page?
A couple of people, including me.

Tell you what I am looking for is cables for modular PSU's. Some PSU's have quite stiff modular cables. Surely Bit Fenix can make them braided for say ocz, corsair PSU's etc.

John
We're running a pilot project with OC3D right now. One thing for certain is that the cables WON'T be selling separately. I just can't see 400 SKU's being released, and suppliers having to purchase in bulk. More likely in sets.

Once TTL gets them back, and he shows them off, we'll see how you guy's reactions are, and we'll make a decision from there.
Some people are saying "I won't buy the set. I only need, say a 24pin"
Well, Lets calculate...
A typical power supply has:
24-pin ATX Motherboard
4-pin ATX12V Motherboard
8-pin EPS12V Motherboard
8-pin PCI-E
Serial ATA
4-pin LP4 Peripheral Device

~6 types of power cords
~4 basic colors (red blue white black)
~minimal 20 different power supplies on the market
6x4x15 = 360 different SKU's one for each cable. Can a retailer afford to purchase them all, and in multiple quantities? yes. but chances of selling them all, slim.
A full set minimizes the chances of unsold products, if you know what I mean.

Loving your products. Currently have 4 or your new fans waiting to cool my rig.

But can I suggest an idea for your fan controller? Is a desktop version possible - like me and i am sure some others their pc will not.be directly beside them and also may have a cover hiding their front bays

A very similar design to your existing controller with a slightly larger screen to sit in front of you on your desk would be a winner for me. Use a PCI slot to run all the fans too and have the screen connected to that.

Please.make it happen :D I really need.one

Does this part of the video not make it more interesting?

When these came out, my first reactions were, "Why the heck would I need this? Waste of my desk space, and if I needed to control my fan, I would just reach over, flip a switch from 12V to 7V, and be done in 3 seconds"
For the price of purchasing these external fan controllers, you could purchase a new case without a front panel door...
Now, if it was a lamp stand, a digital frame, an alarm clock, a network media player, runs on android, and a fan controller all in one, i'm sold. :)
Edit: might as well incorporate an intercom in there, and the functions to shut off lights in the house. hehe

Can you say anything about what PSU's are being considered? I would definitely be interested as I am currently thinking of going for the extensions but these would be so much better.

The only PSU that is being considered at the moment, would be sample model that we're doing for TTL. And even then, we just want an opinion on that project once it's finished. Again, nothing is set in stone.

In January, we expected release date was March 2012, not early, or later...
As the date came close, we're narrowing it down to 1st or 2nd week of march.

Prodigy i'm looking at an ETA of early to mid May. It may or may not be a bit later, depending if we decide to do something crazy last minute..
On the flip side, it may be a bit earlier.
