[BitFenix] Support and Discussion Thread!

Right. It slipped my mind that OCUK ~ Caseking.de now.

I don't know when the review will be live, but I'm sure it'll be lengthy when it comes out!

Ok final decision:

Succesor to my recent case P182, SHINOBI XL yes/no? Those 30m fans quiet? Controlled by mobo or some controller on its own?

Looking forward to some reviews as well. Still undecided as to wether to get the xl, or mod my lian li.

Few weeks of saving and I'm gonna have to buy a Colossus red/blue.
Drool, slobber, slurp, etc...
Don't usually go for the 'led-bling' style, but these look stunning!

They do indeed! I've always been a bit intrigued myself as to whether you could swap out the LEDs in them and get whatever colour you want xD

Received my Shinobi Drive Bay Cover today... Still haven't actually ordered a Shinobi XL, but hey ho...

First impressions are really good. Bit of a shame it hasn't come with instructions for installation - simple, I know, but would be a nice touch.

Packaging is nice, and feels environmentally friendly because it's your traditional brown packaging deal.

The SoftTouch is absolutely incredible. Been fiddling with the cover now for a good half an hour and it hasn't got a single mark. My Lancool, I marked within about 20 seconds of getting it out of the box with a fingerprint...

Spring loaded mechanism on it is also very good, and overall I think it's lovely.

The only two criticisms I have about the product itself, is it would have been nice if the button had been flush with the cover, and the top plastic is quite flexible. To be fair though, the second issue I believe would be sorted out the second you actually install it in a case.

Got some nice photos I might upload later, and not going to bother doing a full review, as I can't actually install it at the moment, but figured for now that I might as well post some first impressions. Definitely worth the £4 in my mind...

Have a product suggestion, an addition to the Alchemy range of cables...

4Pin floppy power extensions, not for a floppy drive obviously, but for sound cards, quite a few these days use them as a power source and I found it extremely difficult to source a braided one, even then it was molex to 4pin FP.

Also apologies if this has been mentioned earlier in the thread, I did skim through the pages but it might have been easy to miss :)

Having it flush with the cover, would require it to have a spring inside of it. (like a reset/power switch on cases)
I took this picture with the regular shinobi. Hope it helps.

Yeah, I realised it would need a spring behind it. Kind of realised it would require quite a complex change, but making it flush was only really me being picky :)

kmetek, you can get it from OcUK:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-015-BX

I also imagine you get free postage anyway, so it'll be with you tomorrow...

Something I just thought about as an idea:

A lot of modders use Google Sketchup to plan out builds, mods and the such like; however there is a significant lack of realistic case models in the Sketchup Gallery. I'm not sure how easy it would be to do, however it would be so cool if Bitfenix created these models yourselves so we new they are accurate representations where we can plan out builds etc...
