I was using my front panel USB ports quite happily on the USB2 header on the motherboard. However I just hooked it up to the USB3 socket instead and now it seems to be unable to read my thumb drives. Windows 8 says 'device has failed or unrecognised' but if I plug in a USB 3 mouse or my headphones, it seems to detect those just fine? I plugged my USB sticks into the hub on the monitor (which is connected via USB 3 on the external ports) and they were seen just fine.
It's a little strange. Any thoughts on what the problem may be?
