I have a Dell Precision 7510 Laptop and upgraded to Windows 10.

I've encrypted the hard drive using BitLocker but now every time I boot the Laptop is asks me for that really long recovery key. How can I get around this?

You need to look into enabling TPM in the BIOS. This should under security settings.

Start up the laptop once this is enabled, type in your key then pause and re-enable bitlocker from the control panel.

The encryption key will now be saved in the BIOS.

I'd still keep a copy of your key though.

Boot up the laptop, enter the code, and boot into windows
Open control panel, go to Bitlocker.
Find the "suspend bitlocker protection" link. Click it. Reboot.

That should be job done. Essentially it suspends the protection and allows your machine to re-learn the current config as being the current good one that doesnt need a key.

If your key ever became corrupt in the BIOS, or your turned TPM off by accident etc... etc... then you'd need your key to get into your laptop.
