i use bitlord but i downloaded bitcomet the other day to try it out. i've now deleted it but i'm concerned as when i was using it, a warning came up to say that a port was only half open and that would affect it's download speed.
bitlord has not given me any warning but i can only assume that it is also affected. i do a lot of downloading so i was wondering if anyone knows how i could fix this?

open the needed port on your router.
btw, i do belive bitlord was full of spyware and crap, you might want to give yourself a scan just incase.

bitlord was also based on an older version of bitcomet I belive...

oh i see... i'll have to look into that lol

how do i find out which port i need and how do i open it fully? and will it increase the speed of my downloads?

in the options menu somewhere in bitcommet it will tell you what port the program is using, you would then open it in your router, pointing it to your internal ip address.

If you need more information on how to forward ports, there is a website, something along the lines of, portforward.com which will tell you.

Don't use BitLord/BitComet. They apparently use very aggressive techniques to maximise download speed. As a result many trackers now just block them, so you'll probably get better rates with uTorrent or Azureus.
