I'm looking to get:

Now I will be unable to use the clamp due to it going into wood and being too thick.
So I thought I could get a M20 Tap and Tap out the wood, and screw it directly into the wood itself.
This is all good and well, but can anyone confirm the thread for the M20?
I have found an M20 x 1.5 Tap and an M20 x 2.5 Tap.
Or is it neither of those 2 and something else?
Would appreciate any help.
