Bitspower Z-Multi tube reservoir correct installation

Need help figuring out the correct way up this tube reservoir should be when installing it into the case, my guess is the best way to mount it would be the three holes go on top with the tube (on top) as inlet and the other two holes on top are for fill port and the led light, then the vortex fitting goes on the bottom inside as the outlet from the reservoir to the pump, just need feedback on if this is correct or wrong, or can you do it any other ways, thanks

I have installed this both ways, if you have the return at the top make sure you use the straw thingy on it. See my sig for pics (blue fluid is one way up and then I changed it the same time I switched to red)

OK thanks for the help mate, like you said if I have the return on top which I'm most likely planning on doing is it safe to have the straw submerged in water or is it wise to keep an air gap between the top of the water level and the end of the straw thing? Also what is the best way to fill a tube reservoir? or what did you find the best way? sorry to ask a load more question but its better to ask someone that already has experience with this sort of kit.

I have the 3 holes at the bottom and the straw as my return which is one of the bottom holes feeding the fluid up to the top of the res before being sucked back down into the pump.

I found this way best for bleeding the air out of the system.

Also filling up i simply used a barb with a tube attached which is attached to a funnel and screwed it to the top of the res to fill it.

After filling, simply remove barb and you're done

^ Same for filling up just a barb and tube or a syringe straight into the hole.

When I had the return on top I had the fluid filled up so it came at least 1cm over the end of the straw.

I thought this was the best way, I guess it stops the returning water sounding like a waterfall haha

Yeah also reduces the water disturbance so less likely to push bubbles into fluid and back back through the loop.

Very true as well, I have yet another question for you, how do you go about draining your loop? does it depend on your loop set up, or is it just preference? thanks

I drilled a hole in the bottom of my case and put a fill port connecter with a T section on top, basically it works like a car sump plug. I unscrew the stop cap under the bottom of the case it pretty much all drains out cleanly. I then do up all the caps flip the case and then re-drain and just repeat until it's all clear.

-EDIT If you do this, make sure that the drain is the lowest point of your loop it won't work if the T section is higher then say your pump or tubing.

I guess you always put the T section after the pump, so when draining the system it wouldn't run dry? like on your red watercooling set up, by the way nice build buddy

Thanks, It won't matter I have had it before the pump and after it made no difference as the pump will be off at the time.

You might want to edit your last post so the image does not show as the image is oversized that's why I wrapped it in spoiler tags.

Yeah, you will also need a male/male connector to join that to the fillport just as you would with any T connector.

You need:

Fillport
T piece
Stopcap
2 more compression fittings or barbs
male to male connector

also don't forget a hole cutter for your drill. (I can check the size I used if you like)
