after lots of advice just ordered the following

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1800 XT 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-121-SP)

will this be quick it better be cost enough

Yup, that'll be awesome for gaming.

Just make sure you set games to run off of one core, a few people have been having problems with that. Not sure how to do it though, sorry.

cheers i will look into it ,long live pc games ,burried my 360 under the patio ,only joking sold it on ebay,the games are to expensive , restricted gameplay ,i like strategy and first person shooters ,yes call of duty was very good but the laggy servers where enough to spoil it also i need ,sorry i demand to have my counterstrike source back lol ,the xbox and 3 games are as much as this system ,world of war craft on a xbox i dont think so , lol enough waffle cheers guys

I don't know if that's right. It's in the BF2 thread I think.

People with X2's have been having lagging issues because it's running off of both cores. Something along those lines anyway.

Why only 80GB of storage?

I would get at least a 300GB capacity drive.

its a cost thing will upgrade with further sata drives later ,newbie question ? is the called raid or what is raid

You are thinking of RAID but it isn't relevant for what you'd want the extra drives for, basically you get 2 hard drives of exactly the same model, you can then set the 2 drives to work together, where in RAID 0 the 2 drives double up and become one drive, so files are split over the 2 drives making things run quicker but if one drive were to fail then you loose information on both drives. Or you can use RAID 1 where one drive constantly backs up the other drive so if one drive fails you'll have a backup.
