Your mental image of high-level eSports competition might be the stony faces and intense, silent concentration of two Korean StarCraft pros going at it - but, it turns out, it's not all like that at all. Eurogamer's YouTube editor Ian Higton recently visited Cologne for the Call of Duty European Championships and witnessed the explosive aggression of top COD teams first-hand. These guys are a little more in touch with their feelings, shall we say.

Check out Ian's video below for a great insight into what it's like inside the room at these events. Not safe for work or polite company...

The video the article links to has swearing in (despite it being on a major gaming website), so I'll just direct you to Eurogamer to find the article, it's the main story: www.eurogamer.net

Now, I can understand swearing to a certain point, sure, but the fact they act as if they want to start beating the hell out of each other is extremely strange...

Should they not have the teams in seperate rooms, or further apart?

Also they aren't doing us all any favours with 'United Kingdom' plastered all over their shirts. :o

The guy in the left team who keeps saying he's the daddy is basically the saddest human being on the entire planet and deserves to be sterilised so that his super-sad attitude is not allowed to infect the next generation. I hope his life is ruined now he's shown himself up.

This the unfortunate occurance, when a player takes a game far to seriously, they act very irrational towards winning and losing because the game has become their life... pretty sad state of affairs tbh.

Lets all hope it doesnt carry on!

imo they were a bit over the top, but it all seemed to be coming from 1 guy in that 1 team, the rest were all just responding to his initial outbursts.

if you took him out of the equation, i bet you half of that wouldn't of even went on.

the organisers and sponsors should start banning all the idiots and put an end to this nonsense.

It's not acceptable behaviour from anyone in a public place

I despite retardation of this level.

reminds me of uni students...

I play 6 side football and promoted twice in 2 seasons, id be embarrassed to celebrate either a win or a goal in that manner.

Those English hooligans... embarrassing to watch.

A bit harsh to tar everyone with the same brush though, obviously something has happened there to make them all act like *****, reminds me of some football games I play in where any little thing and the whole team are jumping up in arms, ****** and blinding.

Have you watched the video, it's the manner of it all, they look as if they want a punch up! :p

Just gaming Banter which is heated up because of the money at stake. Nobody actually hits anybody & there is no security there which tells me all they do is chat ****. Harmless.

Don't mind Malc, he's just trying to make excuses for his own CoD rage. :p
Don't even play BF2 anymore let alone COD. But Yer when I played me & the guys I played against **** the bejesus out of each other it was all part of the fun. A lot of the times the player I had the most banter with was the one that ended up friends & a regular team mate/Player.
Bit like at school when you had a fight with a lad you ended up good mates after or at least had respect for each other for having a go & standing up for yourself.

I rage myself when playing CoD, that's not the issue, have you even watched the video?

How can you insult an old hand like me with that Slanderous accusation :p
Of course I watched it, Looked like a bunch of teenage geeks out of there bedrooms for the first time in 6 months. :D
