Bizarre issue - windows reporting incorrect drive space

is reporting incorrect drive space free

I have about 50GB free, but explorer is saying i have just under 2GB free

even when saving a 4gb file, i get a warning on disk space
has anyone seen this issue?
 
nope, doesnt seem to be

basically everything is telling me i have 1GB free, but i know i have deleted lots of stuff
also, windirstat says 83 used of 120..which makes much more sense
 
This is gonna sound silly and patronizing (and could be completely wrong but i'm gonna type it anyway) but did you empty your recycle bin aswell to free up the space (this happened to me once).
 
Do a chkdsk /f

Could be free space that hasn't properly been claimed back ... Or in worst case drive could be on the way out with multiple bad sectors
