Bizarre Number?

Guys,

The number 008000 242062 has called me two days in a row now.

What on earth is this? Is it even a phone number? Anyone had anonymous calls like this from numbers that dont even look real?
I called it back from the work phone, and got a number not recognised so I'm kinna curious...

00800 is an international toll-free number. No idea what the organisation is, though.

Hmmm.

Picked up yesterday when it called around 8pm. Was a foreign lady asking for someone not by my name.

IIrc, o2 Can block numbers cant they by user request?

No i dont think they can, best is just to let it ring and hopefully they will get bored of ringing u.

Id say it was an off-shore tele-sales centre trying to upgrade your phone (or sell you some clat you dont want)

"Bob" from Bengal Personal Communications: "Can I speak to Mr Smith please"
Petey: "sorry you've got the wrong...."
Bob: "... do you have a mobile phone sir?"

You can just use call barring.
