Bizarre Speedtest result

I know they are notoriously inaccurate but can anyone explain this?

My router stats are as follows

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7614 kbps 1321 kbps
Line Attenuation 40.0 db 21.2 db
Noise Margin 6.8 db 6.8 db

Speedtest.net is erratic at the best of times. Try the BT one, or the thinkbroadband one instead and see what you get.

The BT one never works for me, it's always busy

Upload is exactly what I actually get, download is about 2500kbps lower than actual
