Hi Guys,

I have just put together a new setup. I7 4770K, Z87 Sabertooth, 8GB G.Skill Sniper, and 2 ASUS Direct CUII Top cards in Crossfire X. With my aging Xonar DX (nearly 5 years old) installed and when I try to enable crossfire, through CCC, the system BSOD Stop 116 error!
I remove the Xonar, and said problem vanishes! Any ideas? MY PSU is an HX850W so no issues there!
This has me stumped!
Quite happy to replace the card if it is indeed the root cause! I will have to use the on-board sound till next month though now spent up! Is the audio any good on the mobo? not familiar with these newer cards.
Regards, Jonnygrunge.

What OS are you using and what drivers?

Windows 7, Cats 13.12 WHQL, and latest DX from ASUS.

Report it using the links in my sig.

Have you tried a different driver? Tweaking settings in your motherboard bios? Putting the sound card in a different Mobo slot?

Disabling the sound card via device manager just before you enable crossfire, then re-enabling it? Not sure if thats possible, but just a suggestion. :p

Have done mate! Thanks! Certainly is a headscratcher! Have tried card on all x1 slots and the x4/1 slot at x1 on my mobo still the same fault! My card is old (rev 1.2) that may be the issue? On board sound it is then! For now anyway!

Turns out updating the VGA cards BIOS solved the issue! Maybe ASUS need to advertise this more, to people wanting to CrossfireX the cards!

Pretty sure yours was a random issue though, you can't just assume everyone would have the same issue as you did. Glad you got it fixed, computers don't you love them :p
