BK sub makes a small popping noise when input changes?

When the input on my AV receiver (Yamaha RX-V373) changes my subwoofer makes a small popping noise. Is this normal?

Could be a bit of DC leakage from a capacitor in the Yamaha, or possibly a cable picking up some RF from a switch mode power supply.

Can you try the sub closer to the amp on a shorter cable just as a test?

never had it happen on mine. the only time my sub makes a weird noise is when it's switched on as it powers on. but i assume this is a normal powering up noise.
