Quick question we are looking at using these blades for our virtualisation project, as I understand it they have some form of onboard flash so the hyper visor can be installed onto.

However I can not seem to find any documentation to support this.

Can someone point me in the right direction please

Thanks

So we just need to buy a decent small USB stick, plug it in to the internal USB socket and install to there?

We are just doing standard virtulisation, not worrying about Xen

Not even that. HP Provide the Software on USB Sticks so all you need to do is order some from HP they delivery each Stick in a huge box... You then wack them into the server(s) and use whatever management software your using.

Do you have a HP part code for that item? Also which version of the VMware hypervisor does it come with as we are looking to use vSphere

Cheers jaket

Its not a cut down version as such, its a hypervisor to allow vCentre access to the hardware, its a very basic kernel.

We are going this route as the OS, Data etc will he stored on a new SAN, and the images will boot from it as well
