¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've tried "back to black", and after a while is has gone patchy grey again...

Does anyone use any special tricks or products to get theirs black again? I've heard the tyre polishing stuff can work well, as does coca cola (but I don't want a swarm of bee's chasing my car. :D Suggestions please.

AutoGlym Bumper care.

Works a treat. Done my bumpers on my 205 last year, many months ago now and they're still black. Great stuff.

Or you could blow torch them.

I'll give that AutoGlym stuff a whirl... I'm also driving a 205, so it sounds ideal. :) It needs a bit of TLC right now, as theres moss on my bumpers at the moment :o

Autoglym Bumper Care does last a fair while, my mate used to use it on his Mk2 Golf GTI.

Try Simoniz Black Trim Wax for stuff that's really far gone. It's very messy though.

Autoglym do a quite general purpose product, i think it's called rubber and vinyl care or something like that. Comes in a spray bottle.

It's really handy to have a bottle as it works pretty well on black plastic bits, and also on interior plastics and leather seats.

I used shoe polish once, lasted for a while. eventually I gave up got tired of all the effort and just bought new bumpers and trim.

Please god dont use cooking oil, i used it about 10 years ago on a motor, looked fantastic when applied, but it didnt half pick up crap, and i reckon the bloke who owns the car now still hasnt got the oil of the motor :p

I had loads of wax on my bumpers. Went to Halfrauds and bought some Autoglym Bumper Care today. Result = great. Nice black, wet looking bumpers, repels the water. Meant to last pretty long too.

Also got some more Meg's stuff. Got lovely shiney alloys and jet black tyres now. :D ;)

(Car care is very addictive).
