June 15, 2006 - In a story which gives new meaning to the term "black market," a shipment of black Nintendo DS Lite consoles was stolen in China while en route to Europe, according to a Sina report (by way of Gamasutra). The shipment, which also included software, is valued at $18 million Hong Kong dollars ($2.3 million).

Nintendo plans to introduce black DS Lites in Europe on June 23.

As of this writing, the thieves have yet to be found. Hong Kong officials are offering $1 million Hong Kong dollars for information leading to arrest. We hope it wasn't any of our readers lost in Lite lust! Come to think of it, though, if it was, please let us know, because we could totally use that cash.

Old news... Nintendo released official information a few days ago that it was in Hong Kong the shipment went missing, and it was White DS Lites.

Nintendo declined to comment on how many were stolen, or to what value they reached, merely commenting to GamesIndustry.biz: "A number of White DS Lite made for the UK market were stolen in Hong Kong. Nintendo is making every effort to ensure that there is enough product available in the UK to meet market demand at launch."
 
river have mine down for a 26th-28th delivery estimate which is quite annoying. If i hadn't have ordered it when it was listed for 89.99 i'd be ordering it from somewhere else right about now :p

on another note, i did that same, 89.99, but mines down as dispatch due for today, im in doubt it will be however, im fully expecting them to change dispatch date to the 23rd
 
Just been down to toys r us... They have got them but the gimp said they cant sell them till friday. Oh well i will buy it from elsewhere...
 
Basically the forum rules state you are not allowed to mention direct competitors of OCUK.

Sic noted that you had mentioned a competitor but as they are not a direct competitor (They dont sell any products that ocuk sell) i pointed out they are not a direct competitor...

was referring to the fact that he was already charging his and they're not out til friday
