I'm about to pull the trigger on buying components for a new build. Conscious that we're not that far away from Black Friday and I'm in no real rush to buy.

Do we usually see deals worth holding out for in Black Friday sales on PC components?

Your probably going to have to wait another 4 weeks or so to get any deals coming but then it's hard to say wether theres anything for your build.

What parts you picked ?

i dont think black friday deals are that great any more, items have usually been that cheap elseware in the year or even cheaper sometimes.

i think some people go a bit crazy for black friday and just assume its cheap because retailers say it is.
Agreed.

Just like most "sales" nowadays.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday is a good example of "marketing" and people lap it up.

I'm waiting till then, doubt anything will be more expensive if I wait and if there are deals then great. If not then I've spent the same anyway.

The most likely thing that might go up is RAM and SSD/M.2 prices as memory has been overproduced and there is talks about manufacturing being scaled back next year to resolve the excess supply.

Though you could also look at that and think they might do even better deals on those to try and dry up some of said excess...

I'm sure there will be deals, but they might not be as amazing as seen in previous years and they may be on stuff you're not looking at buying.

Usually the only thing that seems to actually be a deal on black friday seems to be TVs - often the price doesn't drop to the same level until maybe march in the next year or something. For PC Components it seems pretty meaningless - also remember if the extra cost is small you also get to use the upgraded part for an extra month or two if you don't wait to buy it which is pretty nice

BF is BS - retailers just have prices higher than they should be in the run-up - see the GPU market right now as an example - then drop prices a little for BF.

Yeah, I agree.

There are some good deals but often the discounts are realised by hiking the price of the products up in the month before BF and then “slashing” prices on BF.

I did get a good deal on a SN850X 2tb SSD on BF but that price wasn’t much less than a normal sale.
