Soooo....

I've managed to create an "entertainments room" out of our old playroom for the kids.

I've bought the below sofa for £550 electric from love sofa.... and MY GOD its comfy... Plus Electric.

I have been holding out for a 4k TV 55inch, I've checked online and the sofa eye level is exactly 5.5ft from where the screen will go... Thus it being at "cinema" distance.

I'm hoping to get a 55" 4k TV for £400 - £500..... I have no intention of paying any more than that for anything less in size!

Question is tho.... a sound bar!! Hmmmm

Anybody got some inside knowledge of any deals coming out on the 24th of Nov? I've booked the day off to go and buy and fit!

My Cable plan:

Sofa ... wehey... Honestly, DFS was twice as much and had to wait 3- 4 months for it!

I've always bought cheap TV's since 2006 when I first moved in... Despite many saying about the benefits of spending £100s more. To this day I still have most of the TVs I bought back then

Not to mention the fact that the below TV will likely be around 450 - 550 on the 24th, if not something else along those lines. I just don't get sucked in to spiel and all the new "gen" bs.... Got some friends who pay £1500+ for TVs.... I go over and they're watching Kodi on them... laughable!

Rather spend £££ on a decent sofa with a TV that'll do the job!

Its entirely your choice of course and this is only an outsiders view on my part so dont be offended but you are basically putting an average price TV in as you say a purpose build room. Most people consider a cinema room or Man Cave (as I've seen on here) to also have a TV fit for purpose too. Its a bit like going to an IMAX or XPLUS cinema and watching the Movie on a 65" TV screen. Yes your seat may go up and down and back and forth and be really comfy but the picture is no where near as good as it could be. Don't even mention again you are going to use a soundbar either. I take it also its only for two people, no kids allowed.

Not offended at all. Being a family man, i put my kids first buy not wasting ££££ on pointless TV's while using kodi. Its the "cinema room" is a posh word for a sofa in front of my computer station with a TV on the wall in front. We have a decent TV in the living that we'll watch family films. The "cinema room" is for either our girls to chill out and watch a film or for us to watch a film series when their in bed.

As for the sound bar, listening to replies here i'm looking in to an app and speakers..... Maybe when the kids are older i'll look at moving my pc back out of the room and it be officially become a purpose built cinema room with a proper TV.
