For my first bulid I'm probably going with the CM HAF 922, I love everything about the case, just wish it came with a flat black interior.

So to those of you with case modding knoledge, is it worth the trouble/cost? I'm not loaded and it's my first build, would you recommend me doing it?

sure why not, ive done it many times, my only advise would be if your going to do it to properly degrease the surface and use a paint such as plastikote (they do a matt black one which is nice) but let it drive for at least 24-48 hours before touching it, thats the biggest mistake ive done thinking its touch dry and started to put stuff in and chipped the paint. The downside is you have to be very very carefull when installing and uninstalling components

Done buy a pro, powdercoating will cost £60-£80

Done buy yourself - deriviting, prepping, primer, paint etc....

The HAF has quite a small window compared to some cases, so it looks like not too much of the internals show.

You could put a dark tint window in , replace the standard one with dark tint acrylic ~ £10

This will still show the internals with some selective lighting.

Up to you really :)

Sorry mrdbristol didn't see your post when I made mine. Yea it was only really an idea, with the small window it hardly seems worth it, but still. Amazing rigs by the way mrdbristol, they are really something.

Thanks again Bradmax, looks like it's more the effort the the cost if doing it yourself.

It depends how you do it yourself.

As the case comes "pre primed" you can just simply sand down and then paint from halfords and will cost around £20 incuding paper.

Or you can do sand it down, 2 coats of prime etc so it will be more exspensive but will look better.

It all comes down to your prep tbh
