We've been waiting on this damn mod for ages. It does look amazing, but it' one of those I'm just not going to get worked up for until it appears.

This mod will never be released, because its already dated and will simply be old by the time they finish it.

It will matter to the graphics fanatics, who, unfortunately, appear to be an exceptionally large proportion of the gaming world.

Ill play it as the HL1 story and game play were and are amazing! And because although I got to the final boss in HL1, I never actually completed it.

Well yea of course it matters. The only real reason to remake it is to improve the graphics. What's the point in spending so long doing something that when it comes out it's so far out of date that it kind of just puts you back to the beginning all over again. Pretty pointless really.
 
I'm still excited about this. Never played HL1 as i'd already played HL2 and the graphics put me off. I still like the HL2 graphics so have no problem playing this.

I found out the other day that one of the devs for this mod goes to my college. We saw a guy wearing a Black Mesa Source hoody and ended up talking to him. He said they're not quite finished yet but they're quite a way through. He also said that they're not going to rush it as they want to make it as good as possible. Fine by me tbh.
 
looks great, and i think maybe they will wait till episode 3 just to see what forword movemant valve have made in the game then implament them into the mod.

It did but it wasnt a true HL1 to source engine convertion, i think they upgraded a few things but kept the HL1 feel of it.


Its looking good but then again it has been in the pipeline for YONKS...
 
Black Mesa is Duke Nukem Forever of the mod world. By the time it's out in alpha form someone will be already porting HL2 to HL3 engine.
 
Its not just a straight graphics swap, as I understanding there is some considerable level redesign too

Im guessing the Vort model can be imported from HL2 as well as GMan, hopefully Eli and Kleiner will look like the HL2 models

This game reminds me of being a young kid getting my hopes up about a Christmas present that didn't materialise. I learnt the hard way that it's not a good idea to get too excited about some things. If it ever gets released (which will be the same day as Duke Nukem Forever, I reckon) then I'll be very pleased, but until then I'm not getting my hopes up.
 
the music is rather good.

the PC gaming community will welcome this with open arms when its done..

shame it is still unreleased but as its a MOD you cant expect to treat it like an official release, graphics or otherwise
