Black Myth: Zhong Kui

Huh...so no Wukong DLC? There's not been a peep about any additional content. Very surprising given the huge popularity of that game. I'll keep an eye out on this, although I can't see it being nearly as popular as BM: Wukong. I think the loose ties with things like DBZ boosted the popularity of that one for sure.

Really not sure it'll have too many issues, given that this character and Wukong come from the same mythologies (which Journey to the West itself adapted); and it wouldn't surprise me if, if they keep doing these, that at some point there'll be some overlap as it's essentially a shared Chinese mythological universe (CMU). I'm not sure why, but Chinese/Korean games as a wider whole seem to have a massive problem with plaguarism and feeling like they're full of random things taken/borrowed from other places bolted together, rather than feeling like they've got a cohesive style/setting. Black Myth Wukong was one of the few games that we've got here that actually got a marketing push that clearly seems to have a style of its own it wanted to show and had some cohesion.

What I mean by that is a lot of chinese/korean games essentially feel a bit like Fortnite, loads of stuff bolted together, these Black Myth games seem to have a much more distinct and individual identity.

I suspect the Chinese market (which is huge) will lap this up, and if its got similar or better visual chops and other improvements/learnt lessons compared to Wukong, it'll win over Westerners as well, especially as they've clearly linked the game into a series with Wukong (Black Myth) to essentially give it the linkage Wukong does to stuff like DBZ/JttW.
