Black ops 3 - 4 player split screen possible?

Hi guys, had some family round today and they wanted to experience PC gaming so whacked on a comparable title they are used to and struggled to find the option for 4 player split screen in BO3.

Having searched online it seems it was possible, even in the zombies section when you add more controllers and hit activate splitscreen it states 2 out of 4 participants (or something similar) but none of the other pads are shown...

In the gamepad settings I can change the control pad for player 2 but thats it

I am using Dualshock 4's with DS4 windows. Tried both wired and wireless. No other issues in any other games (PES, FIFA etc), just this one....
Whats the crack?

not sure if it can myself the problem is that it would be if it did 4 screens all 4:3 because they have not updated the engine its running the same split screen as ps3 black ops
