ok basically im not sure wheter to pay £40 for a staem copy of black ops, or to buy a hard copy..

if i buy a hard copy do i activate it via steam so that i can download it in future if i was to loose the disc?

Yes it does require Steam to play and takes 20 minutes to install from the disk, so if you have a fast connection you may as well download it. Especially as the best price for a hard copy is now £35, unless anyone else has seen it cheaper.

I pre ordered a hard copy, as it was cheape, it came before release day so I entered the CD key into Steam and pre loaded it. So no difference between retail copies and Steam copies.

This is where steam is brilliant. I did the same for NTW when that came out in Feb. Cant wait to move flat, 40mb line as this crappy 2mb line
