Black Ops Loading Screens

Im noticing some slow downs in black ops loading screens and was thinking about dropping a 955 or 1055t in,

would i be better off getting a new psu or ?

Spec in sig.

I dont even get in quick enough to get first blood usually two people are killed before i get in.

I could sell my old one so it wouldnt cost me too much money anyway.

well all my mates with quad cores load much faster than me and i have a vertex 2e .

but anyway, you reckon i could put a 95w 955 or 95w 1055t in there ? and my psu could cope ?

Not had any luck unlocking your other two cores? PSU is fine.

nope no luck, ill see if i can locate a 95w 1055t as my 550 is 80w so it shouldnt be a problem.

Just stick a quad in. Those two extra cores on a 1055 will sit there doing nothing in almost everything. Nothing apart from leaving a hole in your wallet, that is

the only quad i could fine is 125W TDP you reckon my psu would still do it ?

my psu has been recordede to do 450w so ? should i be ok ?

None of your components eat power.

And don't get the X6 please! Worse in games than the X4

Will be fine. Any tests I've seen put the 4870 around 300W max total system load running something like furmark. Less when gaming. That's in a quad test system. A heavily OCd quad and perhaps a little more absolute max, but still way way under 400 for normal gaming. As you are aware your CX400 is a little tank too - could have been labelled at least a 450W, and in Hawdware Secrets overload tests it dished out something like 480W staying within thermal spec. Dont worry.

My guess is that you'll spend all that money and still not get first blood as the other guys are pinging lower than you to the game server

Your graphics card is your bottleneck loading the maps.
Upgrade the GPU and the textures will load quicker.

im hearing two different sides here ?

my mate who has a 4890 loads atl;east double as fast as me and he has a 955 aswell .

so i dont think my gfx card is the issue .

ima get the 955 and see what happens tbf

I have a vertex 2E so if it was down to hdd surely i would win, :S its gotta be the fact that black ops is optimized for quads.

Just sell CODBO as it will be cheaper, and better
